Axholme in the Seventies
The Haxey & Westwoodside Heritage Society, which works closely with the IoA FHS, has been involved in a project to transfer 600 slides taken by members of the then Axholme Camera Club in the 1970's on to video.
As they could get no grants or lottery money they have funded it themselves and it has been the most expensive project they have ever undertaken.
A professional video engineer was employed and the excellent 2 hour video includes a postscript illustrating the changes in the Isle over the last 30 years.
The video shows the history of the Isle, its industries, events such as the Haxey Hood & the Belton Barrow Race, and includes lovely sections on each of the Isle villages.
It will be launched in September in the Isle, and orders are already being taken.
The cost is £12.95 plus £1.05 postage & packing.
Please make cheques payable to The Heritage Video Account and send your order to:
Mr. Geoff Starr,
'The Spinney',
Upperthorpe Road,
Westwoodside,
Doncaster.

NOTE: Videos using the American format can be produced at a higher price. Please write to the above address for further details.
